Install vs Portable?

Post by Muad`Dib »

For most programs, if a portable (non-install) option is available, I choose that. I like having everything in one main folder, and "uninstalling" is quick and easy. However, with some software, there are features not available in the portable version (for example, integration with the Windows Explorer, scheduling operations are sometimes easier with installed programs).

I'm trying to decide whether to use the installed version or the portable version of SyncBackPro on my primary home computer. Could someone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of running the portable version of SBP (or SBSE /SBF for that matter)? I looked through the SyncBackPro documentation for such a discussion and not find anything. If it's there and I missed it, just tell me the page number (or if there's a web page discussing this, just let me know the URL). Thanks!

The portable version of SyncBackPro is the best. You should choose it.
