Following-up:

I've spent an hour with Google One chat support (the support that is offered for paying Google Drive customers), stuck in a chicken-or-the-egg scenario. Being given a phone support or URL to Google Workspace, which in both cases, only work for paying businesses (worst case, it's paying business, but I can't just pay for 1 month, I need to pay top $ for a whole year), trying to figure out how to get approved, since I don't own any domain, and I'm not a developper either, so I don't own a Workplace account - Unsuprisingly, Google have no way to talk to a human-being (and that's understandable, otherwise, they'd be swamped with calls).

Is there something I do incorrectly, unless...? I'm throwing in the towel =') 4 weeks without a cloud backup and can't even run the profile manually anymore =/

Hi,

If you are using SyncBackPro V10, I would suggest sending a support ticket to [email protected] for assistance.

Thank you for following-up, appreciate it. Indeed, it's V10.

That was my next thought, my support period long expired tho, hence why I've turned to the forums first (it's a great software, I would gladly pay for a one-time resolution, if I had to haha. Worst case scenario, I'd really hate to switch software or to OneDrive, since the backup solution was working well for months - I blame Google for this change, not Syncback hehe)

I will update the thread if we figure out anything.

Turns out I was indeed doing a step incorrectly!

Step 4, I was editing the Google Drive profile and clicking "Authorize" / "Use my account", getting the UNAUTHORIZED_CLIENT error again.

However, going by the burger menu > Linked Cloud Accounts > Uncheck-Recheck did the trick and I got a successful backup again.

I used to believe that it was a temporary measure, because not owning a domain, I will never pass Google verification process ("4 to 6 weeks" lol). I was explained by the support that it didn't mattered that I remained a test user forever.

To quote Google: "When the release status is set to "Test", only test users can access the app. The quota of authorized users before validation is 100 for its entire lifetime".

Used to believe it was a 100 GB quota during the testing phase only, but incorrect, it does state a quota of 100 USERS.

To quote support again (as I was simply curious on the Syncback project limitation):

It is actually based on the number of requests per set seconds.

"You may view your allowed quota in the Google APIs Console (https://console.cloud.google.com/apis). Under the "Enabled APIs & services" tab, click on the "Google Drive API", and the quota will be displayed. [...] You may also refer to this article on the Google Drive usage limit for each user:
https://developers.google.com/drive/api/guides/limits It is actually based on the number of requests per set seconds."

If I understood this correctly, 1 user alone, cannot theorically bust that quota, would need more than just 1.

Great support! Thanks again! :) All fixed.
