Multiple sources / One profile

Hi!

I was wondering, can you set in the program to scan multiple drives in the same time and compare it with another? Like... I need a sync profile where the left side I wanted to be " C:\;D:\;E:\ .... and so on till Y:\ ", and the right side to be Z:\Trash . Can this be possible with this program?

Let me explain you why, to understand it better. I am an "show hidden and system files" guy... I want to see all the files no matter what, but... there are some folders/files which I don't like (example: $RECYCLE.BIN ). Z:\Trash will be an empty folder and when the sync is running, all the $RECYCLE.BIN folders from all left source will be deleted when syncbackpro "feels" a change "like creation of the folder"...

This ideea is already working, but i have 25 profiles created, each profile for every drive.... and... I dont feel that is a very good methood, it will be far better to have the option to make this happens with only one profile (no matter the time for scanning). At last, visibile will be far better

Sorry, but you haven’t stated the SyncBackPro version you are using?

However, to backup files from multiple drives to your Destination, you can either use ‘SyncBack Touch’or AllDrives location script as your Source.

AllDrives script:

1. You must first install AllDrives script via Preferences > Scripts menu.

2. Create a new profile using New Profile creation Wizard. In the 3rd screen of the Wizard(where you select the Source and Destination), select "All Drive Location"(from the dropdown menu) as your Source and "Internal/external drive network path etc.," as the Destination. Click on Done button.

3. A Profile setup window is displayed, where you have enter \ under the Source path(script) and configure the Destination path according to your requirement.

4. Click on the "Choose sub-directories and files" settings page to select/de-select files/folders from multiple drives.

SyncBack Touch:

SyncBack Touch acts as a remote agent for SyncBackPro that allows it to access a device’s file system in order to perform backup/restore and sync operations.

Still.... I saw that with the script mothod, you can add script on left side only for backup and mirror, not sync... Sync allow only for right side... Why that?

Sorry for multiple post I saw another inonvenience of script method. You cannot set the action WHEN changes are made on left (script) side...

I see that the same "problems" are even with SyncBack Touch... So, I will remain to my old method (multiple profiles)...

Yes, and unfortunately you can't backup to Cloud with the Alldrives script. Thats really bad!

Is it possible to change that?

Hi,

Sorry, but if you select ‘All Drives Location’ script on one side (source/destination), then you can only select internal/external/network drive on the opposite side, this is by the design of our software. Please read this KB article for more details:

Ah ok.
Then I will create several profiles without the Alldrive script.
Maybe it will be changed in the future.

I'd also like to request that AllDrives (source) be capable of copying to other destination types (i.e. AllDrives to MTP, so I can backup files that happen to reside on multiple partitions to my phone).
