Move/Rename Files in Amazon Cloud Drive

Post by str alorman »

All;
Small issue with Amazon Cloud Drive;
I have a current fully synced backup set of approx 2tb to ACD. I plan on making some changes to my local file system, re-organizing my photo library etc...
I plan folder renames and perhaps a few changes of files within folders, but generally no deletes or creation of new files or editing existing files.

In my simulation, Syncbackpro will read these as New files and simply wish to upload them, rather than something less bandwidth intensive.

Thoughts?

Thanks
a

Hi,

If you are using a Intelligent Synchronization profile then it should be able to detect renames (but not folder/file moves) and replicate them at the appropriate side, if you configure it to do so. You need to edit your Intelligent Synchronization profile and then go to Expert > Decisions - Files and enable the following 2 options:
Detect file renames on Source (note this may reduce performance)
Detect file renames on Destination (note this may reduce performance)
(Click Help for more details on these options)

FYI, we are working on releasing a beta for SyncBackPro V7 coming week which fixes a problem when using the above feature so I wouldn't advise trying it yet as it may fail. Will keep you posted once the beta is available.

Thanks,
Kostas
