Amazon Cloud Drive can not upload.

Post by ozgurerdogan »

I could never managed to upload 3*25GB files to my amazon cloud drive. I am getting following error. It is probably issue with amazon side. But wanted ask here also.

Hi,

You haven't stated SyncBackPro's version that you are using but we have released a new beta which you can download from:
http://www.2brightsparks.com/assets/sof ... _Setup.exe

Do not uninstall and reinstall the existing version otherwise you'll lose your profiles & settings. Just install 'over the top'.

Yes, you are right about this being a problem on their side. This new version spends more time trying to figure out if a file has been properly uploaded to Amazon Cloud Drive before throwing a failure error. You see, the problem with large files and ACD is that sometimes their server throws a HTTP 400 error at us even if the file has been uploaded successfully so SyncBackPro needs to spend time waiting to see if the file appears in the file listing or not. Recently things started getting worse as it seems we need to wait longer till the uploaded file appears.

Thanks,
Kostas

It seems like it did not make any difference:

Code: Select all

Profile Name: test
Source: C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\New folder
Amazon Drive: \test
Cloud: Amazon Drive is on the cloud.
Trigger: Manual

Hi,

You'll have to generate a Support Zip with debug log for your profile and send it over to us for further investigation.

Submit a support ticket by using the Contact Support in the below link in this article and attach the zip.
http://support.2brightsparks.com/knowle ... ation-file

If your Zip is over 30MB, contact us for alternate instructions, advising the actual size. Do not try to attach to the ticket!

Do not post (nor links to) Support Zips on this open forum.

Additionaly, can you verify if the failed files have been actually uploaded fine to Amazon Drive (via the Amazon Drive web UI)?

Thanks,
Kostas

No it is not uploaded to amazon. I will reduce file size from 25 GB to 10 GB and try again. I am sure it is related to amazon side. Because other backup software those support amazon also can not complete it. So I do not feel like I should create support ticket.

Did you find any solution?
For me this issue is happening since about a week, even with files <= 100 MB. Amazon desktop app seems to work fine, though it does not have the usability that SBPro has...

It seems better since yesterday. I read an article about file names being long causes issue. Currently I am testing a 25 GB file with a one letter file name to see if it make any sense.

I was able to upload 10,25,45gb of files for 2-3 times. It is suprising but maybe they changed system which i do not think so. Amazon wants shorter file names but not sure about file path lenght.

Well in my case, for instance, one file is around 65 MB and its path takes about 40 characters (no special chars). I have been trying to upload it almost 10 times with no result.

Did you update recently your SB? I have done it last week, could it be related?

Could 2bright support bring some light to this issue? I have been using ACD without issue for six months right up to these days :(

What error do you get? If it is "HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request", file name lenght could still be the issue. Try naming it to very short one like "abcd".
I have updated SB yes.
I got a Gateway timeout error but it is not bad request error at least..

I forgot to mention, just in case is important, that in the first instance I use versioning.
Some of the profiles are "mirror", others "copy" and there are even "syncronization".
I upload the profile database to the cloud.

Not sure whats is going on. But I remember, moving files other than from web gui does not work for amazon. So maybe versioning can not move files. Try making simple tries at first.

Versioning worked for me just until the problem I have been facing since last week and, in my opinion, it has gone worst.
I do not have that much info (about 3TB), so it might be some problem with Amazon, but I also think 2BrightSparks support should be doing more effort with the issue.

Support is meant for something, I pay for a product not to be struggling but getting things done. My work is not to solve problems with SB Pro, because if I continue this way I would not do my business.

If this situation continues I going to try other products.

Thank you for you time ozgurerdogan
