max number of backups (help)

Post by roboPhil »

Hello I would like to do a full backup each day of the week (mon - fri) and keep a max of 5 backups..
so each week I have a backup for everyday but I keep only 5 folder with the backups..
I do that on my Filemaker database and it looks like the attached example.
I tried to look into FastBackup but it's really not intuitive for me..
anyone has another way or could help me figure this out please ?
thanks :)

You can add variables like %DAYOFWEEK% or %DAYOFWEEKNAME% to your destination path (e.g D:\MyBackup\%DAYOFWEEKNAME%) to create 5 full backups of your data. Then create a schedule task for your profile (under When > Edit Schedule settings page) and configure it to run only 5 days a week at the scheduled date/time (to keep only 5 full backups of your data on the destination).

Please read this forum post for more details on how those variables work:

Thank you.
