SyncBackPro V8.5.5.0 (x64)
Windows 10 Pro (x64), Version 1709, OS Build 16299.125

Preferences -> Options brings up the global settings dialogue box, but neither the cancel button nor the 'X' at the top right of the dialogue box will make it go away. OK button works fine.

What's going on?

Hi,

I tested with the latest release version of SyncBackPro V8.5.5.0, but I couldn’t reproduce your issue. Can you please re-install SyncBackPro from here, and see if it helps:

Do not uninstall and reinstall, or you'll lose your profiles & settings. Just install 'over the top'.

Hi,

I had lost all profiles and settings anyway as I originally upgraded from V7 32-bit to V8 64-bit and your 32-bit v 64-bit help page says 32-bit and 64-bit can't be installed simultaneously on the same machine as it will cause issues. So I uninstalled it and said no when it asked if I wanted to save profiles and settings, just to be sure there couldn't be any conflict.

As I mentioned in another post, I had ended up installing V8.5.5.0 32-bit and all was well. Profiles imported, global settings dialogue cancel button works, backup with compression doesn't complain about problems with the zip DLL.

As you requested, I uninstalled the 32-bit version again (answering no to preserving profiles and settings) and installed V8.5.5.0 64-bit. I downloaded from the link you gave and did a binary comparison with the file I originally downloaded and they're the same. However, all the original problems return. Same exception message in the log and the backup fails:

Exception in RunTheProfile: Cannot create Zip wrapper : Failed to license Zip DLL: Class not registered

Please submit a support zip (with debug logs) of your profile run to [email protected] for investigation.

Full instructions for creating and submitting the support zip are given here:

If your Zip is over 30MB, contact us for alternate instructions, advising the actual size. Do not try to attach to the ticket!

Hi,

I followed the instructions in the link. Preferences -> Output debug information is checked and it says "Debug Output" in the status bar. I ran the profile. When it had completed (or rather failed with the previously mentioned exception), I selected Help -> Technical Support Wizard, selected the profile in the dropdown. It says in the dialogue that the zip file should be saved to the desktop, but when I click create the dialogue disappears but no zip file is created on the desktop. Also looked in other user desktops, just in case.

I also find I'm unable to modify profiles (CTRL + M and the "Modify" icon do nothing). I've used it plenty of times on the 32-bit version, so I'm familiar with it.
Can't delete a profile either.

Installed V8.5.5.0 x64 on my laptop. Everything works flawlessly!

Hi,

I left this for a while and recently installed V8.5.26.0 x64 on my i7 desktop (where I had all the problems) and all the problems are now gone.

Looking at the History of Changes, I see that V8.5.17.0 fixed this:
Fixed (Pro): Errors related to compiler optimization bug (SugarSync, Amazon Cloud Drive, OneDrive)

Looks like it was probably the reason for the problems I was experiencing too. Strange that V8.5.5.0 x65 worked fine on my i5 laptop though. Weird.
