Sync against compressed files broken?

Post by Rueckkehr »

I'm synching files on Onedrive folder (encrypted, compressed) (no direct Cloud Sync) to an internal folder (no compression, no encryption).

With current Release 8.5.33 and current beta 5.5.43 ist is not possible anymore to synch against encrypted and comressed files.

Even a new folder and file on the internal Folder is compressed and encrypted by SyncbackPro to the Onedrive Folder but afterwards SBP does not recognize the file on Onedrive and deletes the internal file and folder in a new run.

Hi,

Please submit a support zip with debug logs of the profile run for further investigation. To do this, enable 'Output debug information' from Preferences menu and run the profile in manual mode (ctrl + R). When the Differences Window is displayed abort the profile run and submit the support zip as per the instructions given here:

http://support.2brightsparks.com/knowle ... ation-file

If your Zip is over 30MB, contact us for alternate instructions, advising the actual size. Do not try to attach to the ticket!

Do not post (nor links to) Support Zips on this open forum.

Thank you.

Hi Swapna,

I have solved the problem and I think it is a special problem of my setup and your change of functionality of a junction point.

I used 8.5.5 before Update to 8.5.33 and 8.5.43

As mentioned I use the OneDrive Folder for Sync between another internal folder. I do not use the Cloud directly.
I now switched off the junction point feature (ignore NTFS-Softlinks (junction Points)) within the profile for the new versions and it works now as expected.

I think this functionality was changed after version 8.5.5

Thanks for your support

Hi,

We haven't changed the functionality of a Junction point. The problem you are experiencing is due to the new OneDrive changes in the Windows 10 fall creators update. Because of this, you need to un-tick the option "Ignore NTFS junction points (reparse points)" from:

Modify profile > Expert > Compare Options > Attribute settings page

Thank you.

Thank you Swapna,

I have used the Version 8.5.5 for along time and there was no problem with this profile. It occurs the first time after I updated to 8.5.33 and even exists on 8.5.43. I have changed back from 8.5.43 to 8.5.5 and all works as before. The Flag was set.

Changing back to 8.5.43 the profile does not work. I have to clear the Junction Point Option only for the new Releases of SBP.

By the way... as far as I see using dir /aL the directory C:\users\<xxx>\Onedrive is not a junction point.

Thanks.

Michael
