Backuo for Modern Standby systems

Post by Jong »

Is SyncBackPro capable of waking a system (most likely a laptop) from Modern Standby (specifically DRIPs) on a guaranteed schedule, or is this planned in a future version?

Our Dell XPS laptops sleep in "Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) Network Disconnected", so that the LAN connection is down. Microsoft appears to be pushing people towards creating apps that use "Maintenance Mode" but that seems to require apps specifically run to support it, that can be suspended and resumed possibly multiple times and are only run as and when Windows decides, so cannot be guaranteed to complete to any schedule e.g. daily.

Old-style wake timers do not work on Modern Standby systems.

Just came across this Wake-on-Wan box from QNAP: https://youtu.be/_6Za3Y3PCjk. Might have the same problem, though.
