[V9] WebDAV backup not working, HTTP error : 400 (Bad Request)

Post by morice »

I was testing V9 to use with WebDAV but cannot get it to upload anything.

- Connection is working fine, i can browse directories clicking the destination's folder icon.
- It does create (empty) folders on the server, but no files are being uploaded.
- I have tried disabling the versioning and compression that i wanted to use, among other things, but the error stays the same.

What's strange is that the error log only shows it deleting temporary files. I noticed that when the profile is running i can actually see the temporary files appearing and disappearing when refreshing the page of the WebDAV server in my browser continuously. Correct me if i'm mistaken, but isn't it supposed to rename the temporary file when it's done uploading rather than just delete it again!?

The 'Make safe copies' option is grayed out and cannot be disabled.

Error log:

I have contacted support with some new information. (Ticket #6162)

It turns out the issue is (indeed) with the "Make safe copies" option. The log shows a HTTP error after "Renaming safe copy". I can disable the option as a workaround, but sadly it is required when using versioning - which is the intention.

Code: Select all

Hello Morice
Thank you for your earlier request on HTTP error 400. I am having exactly the same problem. Via your info I learned it has to do with versioning and safe copy.
I see your last info is dated August 2019. But apparently the problem is still the same today.
Do you know if 2BrightSparks is planning to implement a solution for it? Or is it more an issue with the WebDAV protocol, that 2BrightSparks cannot resolve?
Kind regards
Steven
