I was VERY pleased to find the following in the latest changes
- V9.2.12.0 SyncBackPro, SyncBackSE, SyncBackFree (11th November 2019)
- New (Pro): Can automatically purge native file versions on OneDrive Business, Sharepoint and Google Drive
as I am quite sure that this is the solution to the minimum 100 versions enforced by MS on Onedrive/SharePoint storage. My 200GB backup had failed as the 1TB storage is full up with versions that I cannot remove other than manually locating and deleting them file by file.
So I have installed the new version and scoured the profile options for any indication that this will be done, and I can find no mention of this feature.
I have searched the 500+ page user guide, but no mention.
I have searched the knowledge base, no mention.
Does anybody know how to enable this feature, or does it just (as the name implies) automatically do it?
The one and only mention in the changes notes is ambiguous and it states that it 'CAN' do it, not that it 'WILL' do it.
If anybody out there can shed any light on this I would be most grateful.
Thanks
Steve

Re: automatically purge native file versions on OneDrive Business
Hi,
The setting to enable automatic version deletion can be found under the Versioning tab.
Edit your profile, go to Versioning and enable the option "Automatically delete excess versions on storage". You can also define how many versions you want to keep.
Thanks,
Kostas

Re: automatically purge native file versions on OneDrive Business
Forgot to mention that a purge will happen only when a file gets updated on the cloud storage. It won't purge any other files' versions unless those files get updated as well during the profile's execution. So do not expect all your versions to disappear in one go.
Thanks,
Kostas
