Tunneling through Bastion host to back end server

Post by Joseph N. »

If it is possible, I would like to use SB Pro (I have ver. 9 but could upgrade if necessary) to move files to/from a Windows Server 2019 box, which has a private IP address, i.e., not open to the Internet, that is reachable only through a Bastion host, which has a public-facing IP address. If that's something that SB Pro could do, how would I configure that? Could SB Pro do all of the operation; or would I have to SSH tunnel into the Bastion server first, and then use SB to reach the Windows machine? If so, how would I need to configure the Windows box?

I'm not familiar with options available to users of a Bastion host, but if your system admins have granted you access via SSH you then should be able to make use of SFTP transfers. I believe SB 9 supports this, but I no longer have that version installed so I can't confirm. Here is some documentation on that https://help.2brightsparks.com/support/solutions/articles/43000336153-sftp-and-syncback

Hi,

You can use SyncBackPro with SyncBack Touch to backup files from a remote server over the Internet. Please read "Configuring SyncBack Touch to backup files over the Internet" article for more details:

Thank you
