I’ve recently changed part of my backup strategy and the result is Syncback becoming a resource hog and the pc becoming useless while the backups are being run.
The backups causing the issue are internal HDD to internal HDD, the backups to external drives are not an issue.
CPU and memory usage seem fine, the mechanical drives at 100% disk usage seem to be the problem. Profiles are not running in parallel.
Is there a way of making Syncback less of a resource hog?
I’m using Syncback Pro version 8.9.15.0
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Core i7-11700KF
32GB Ram
Asus GeForce GTX 1660 Super
WD Black 500GB SN750
1 x 4TB Toshiba x300
1 x 4TB Seagate ST4000DM004
Thanks

Re: Syncback resource hog
Hello,
I think you should increase the chunk size for file copying. The default is usually 4MB, try increasing it to 8MB or 16MB. This will reduce the number of disk writes.
