Run Mirror From Source to Destination - File Name Only

Post by Vocalpoint »

All

I have a very specific use case where a vendor of audio plugins has a brutal installer that not only installs 223 plugins but offers NO options on what to install or where to install them. They get scattered into various "defined" folders under C:\Program Files and I am tired of the disk bloat so it's time for a hard cleanup.

I own 45 of these 223 items so I am using a Syncback "mirror" profile to create a repeatable cleanup to keep my 45 in place and ditch the rest - each time a new version of this software becomes available.

To setup - I copied my 45 purchased plugins (.dll files) into a static folder (Source) which I then set to "MIRROR" with the actual installation folder folder on the C Drive. As of now - this mirror profile is great - strips away all the excess crap but leaves my 45 plugins in place and working perfectly.

Now - of course - this now - with these specific files, their specific sizes, date stamps and so on.

For future runs - I have no appetite whatsoever to have to parse out my 45 .dlls into this static area each time a new release comes out - I just want to install the package to the system drive and rock this profile to clean up the excess

Can a typical Syncback Pro "mirror" job compare and act upon JUST the file name (which will always be consistent with this installer) or does it always compare using several different criteria (date/time, size etc) before making it's decisions.

Appreciate any insight on this and if I am able to modify these jobs to work as I have outlined.

Are there customization options within Syncback Pro to modify the comparison criteria used in the "mirror" job, especially when dealing with specific use cases like cleaning up an audio plugin installer?
