SyncBackPro ignores junction point on shared drive

Post by ulicky »

I tried trial version of SyncBackPro if it is ok for my use case.
I setup Task(Sync) from local drive E: to windows share drive (no DFS) X: (\\server\share actually)

Both E and X have identical structure. On both drives, there are folders and subfolders with junctions.
Tried version 10 and it correctly recognized junction on local drive and on shared drive including content (files).

Version 11 correctly recognized junction on local drive and fails to recognize junction on shared drive and ALWAYS ignore content.

Found that article https://help.2brightsparks.com/support/solutions/articles/43000335955-junction-points-reparse-points-symbolic-links-hard-links and https://help.2brightsparks.com/support/solutions/articles/43000336022-no-sub-folders-are-found-in-a-dfs-share

So start playing with "Ignore NTFS junction points (reparse points)" checkbox and realized that in version 11 it works as described but only for local drive. Junction content is ignored always regardless of setting.

Is it a bug, or doing something wrong?
