NAS and automation

Post by gialandra »

When I turn on the NAS I would like to launch a profile automatically. How can it be done?

Hi, it cannot be done for network resources, though it can for USB drives. Windows itself provides a notification service on-request by/to 3rd-party applications (e.g. SyncBackSE) of information about USB 'events', so that feature is possible and available (Modify profile > Expert view > When > Insert).

However, there's no equivalent Windows notification function for LAN events, so nothing for 2BS to leverage. This might be MS 'policy', because network connectivity is far more prone to (remote? wireless?) drop-outs/reconnects than local USB devices, so is potentially much more likely to generate numerous spurious triggers. Anyhow, for whatever reason, it isn't available.
