Scheduling profile groups

Hi, if I create a profile group, can I set a schedule for the group to run? If I do set a schedule for the group to run, what happens to the individual schedules of each profile that were previously created? Do they run as well? Surely that would not be logical, as then you'd get the profile being run twice as per schedule, once for its own schedule and once for the group schedule?

Does anyone know how this works, basically?

Hi, yes, you can Schedule a Group (via right-click Group > Schedule, for example). But, all Schedules (more accurately, all Windows Scheduled Tasks) are independent of each other, so any per-profile Schedules will persist unless/until you take remedial action. This is presumably in the interests of maximum flexibility, so that if desired, users can set up a complex timetable of Schedules. As a simple example, a user may want to run a Group of N profiles at midnight by Scheduling the Group to run them sequentially (by default) at that time, but also run one of the N profiles again individually at midday (for example) by Scheduling that particular profile individually to run at noon. That special profile would then run twice per day, once at midnight (c/o the Group's Schedule) and once at noon (c/o its individual Schedule). The other 'routine' profiles would only run once per day (c/o the Group only).

Given that some users may want to do this (or similar), there is no automatic deletion (or other suppression) of pre-existing individual profile Schedules if you decide to Schedule their Group, presumably as it would hamstring (or otherwise conflict with) the possibility of deliberately using multiple triggers as described above. You would need to delete (or Disable, through the Windows Task Scheduler UI direct) any individual Schedules you do not now want to run. If no longer required, I would recommend deleting them via the SE UI, otherwise (if you merely disable them via the WTS UI) their Next Run (etc) info will still display in the SE UI, which can cause confusion if you look at the individual profile Schedule details (rather than at the Group's Schedule info)
