Highlighting in File and Folder Selection Tree

Post by Tonio »

Hello,

I'm running SyncBack SE 4.0.11.0 (registered). When I look at the "File & Folder Selection" tree in my profiles, I notice that some of the "Include New Files" and "Include New Folders" indicators are highlighted, while others are not. All folders are selected, and I have none that are set to "Ignore". At first I thought the highlighting indicated that there were new files or folders to be processed in them, but I just looked at the profile immediately after backing up, and they remain highlighted.

My question is, what does that highlighting represent? I couldn't find anything in either the help files or the Knowledge Base/FAQs, so I assume it should be so obvious that I ought to be embarrassed asking this question.

Hi, highlighted in red? Those are files or folders that don't exist but you've previously selected them for backup (when they did exist). To remove them from the tree click the Clean Up button.

Uh, no. Green, actually. There's a screen shot at: http://tinyurl.com/ydtres.

Hi, that just means it has been expanded (by you). If it hasn't been expanded, so the contents are listed, then you cannot specify to include or not new files or folders (as it wouldn't know what was new unless you expanded it to see what was already there).

Oh.

I think.

Seriously, I appreciate the replies. And I'm very pleased with the product and how it works. Thanks for your help.

I realize this is a 10-year-old (!) thread. I just wanted to thank you for immediately and efficiently answering my question, once I'd searched for:

syncback "file & folder selection" red

It's just another example of how unusually sharp (i.e. bright) 2BS is. As my mom would've said, "These guys are serious!" Cheers, A.
