Backup from HDD to SSD?

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Backup from HDD to SSD?

Post by markfleener »

Windows 10
External 3TB Toshiba HDD needs to be backed up to an external 4TB SSD.
I think the fact that the back-up drive is an SSD seems to be the issue, not 100% sure, but seems like it...

It behaved as if everything was fine up until the end, the 4TB SSD drive disappeared. I had to unplug and plug the drive back in to get it to reappear. I'm having to try to "repair disk", as it asked me to do, but it isn't working out despite it showing the memory is taken, as if the backup happened, the files just aren't all in there. I wonder how we can get this working, is there, perhaps, a limit on the amount of memory i can try to backup, or the amount of files? The SSD seems to be the issue.

The more times i scan and fix the drive, the more files appear, but this could take ages at this rate.

I had reformatted the ssd before starting, changing it from exFAT to NTSF.
