Confused by process and differences

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Confused by process and differences

Post by dmart7 »

Apologies if this is a rookie error. I am a newbie with this programme (though I have successfully used others which do the same). My aim is to mirror only from one drive to another. I assumed that the programme would only seek to identify differences and work on them. But after the initial analysys, it appears to list all contents and is ready to delete them all and replace them. Am I misunderstanding this? I have one disk which has about 560Gb of data. A second disk mostly has the same data but needs to be updated (mirrored) to be identical. But my SyncBackFree utility says it wants to delete all files and replace them. Thanks

It was the proverbial rookie error, and of the most basic kind. Apologies. On more examination, I realised I had not chosen the correct destination. Therefore, the programme sought to re-create the whole file. No replies needed!
