Syncbackfree compression and copy problems

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Syncbackfree compression and copy problems

Post by leishirsute »

Windows 7, Syncbackfree V7.0.14.0 (en)

I have set for compression at Level 0 - None, encryption, safe copy disable, and Windows standard copy.

The backup to Onedrive is reporting unexpected errors that safe copy has failed.

"Error: Failed to copy from Source : Unable to overwrite existing compressed file: Safe copy failed. Failed to rename temp file: Cannot move file (183): Cannot create a file when that file already exists"

It is also failing to compress some files that are greater than 60MB. However, it seems some files large files of 70MB+ have compressed.

"Error: Failed to copy from Source : Unable to compress file: The file could not be saved in the archive"

There are also remnant SBSE___.??? files in some directories.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Thanks

If I turn off compression, the 60MB+ file is copied to Onedrive without problems.

If I turn on compression, the following error is generated:
Error: Failed to copy from Source : Unable to compress file: The file could not be saved in the archive

So, it appears to be a file size limitation in compression.

Hello,

Sorry for my bad English, but I use Google
Translator

I have the same problem whit syncbackpro V8.4.5.0 (x64) and 1and1 online storage.
SyncBack compresses the data and then uploads it. If the file
greater than 61 megabytes, syncback indicates an error. The mistake
"Failed to copy from source: Can not compress file: The file could not be saved to the archive.".

Files smaller than 61MB work without problems.

I use the compression per file.

If I upload the file without compression with syncback works
it also with larger files. If I compress the file beforehand with 7-zip and then upload with syncback it works.

I have tested several compression settings. at
all settings comes the mistake.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
