Thinks it is backing up, but it's not

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Thinks it is backing up, but it's not

Post by nairb »

I've been using Syncback for a very long time. I back files up from my C drive to an internal backup, D drive. I do daily, weekly, and monthly, etc. I went to go look at a backup file, and to make a long story short, all of my backups have not backed up since February of this year.

All of them run as scheduled, and display a log file of what they "think" they backed up. But, when I go to look at the what the log file reads as backed up the file isn't there. For testing, I created a file and manually run. Again, the log file reads it backed it up, but nothing was copied over.

"Destination D:\Syncback_daily"
"2:06:32 PM \data\billing\01_wit_nc\20160801_invoice.pdf Copied to Destination"
But I go to that destination and that file doesn't exist. Many other files exist from before February, but nothing since then. No errors, just success logs.

I've created new profiles, but still the same results. I've also tried the "verify the files are copied correctly" but they still don't.
I also have upgraded to the latest version, 7.28.6.0, today. Disk isn't full, another TB to go.

Any ideas? Or what I can try.

Well, I tried way too many things, but finally something got it working again. I created a new directory, on the same drive, and had it back up to that directory instead during my testing. And, it now worked, writing out all of the files. And, the scheduled version just ran and backed up okay. Weird.
