Individual profile settings changes

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Individual profile settings changes

Post by needowelum »

I choose specific sub directories and files for backup in a given profile, but if I add a file to the source folder, it becomes automatically "checked" for backup in the profile settings.

Once I determine my preferences for a given profile, shouldn't the default behavior for that profile be that it stays that way? Or am I doing something wrong.

thanks

Hi,

SyncBack (by default) include new files/folders created within the scope of the Source/Destination locations to your profile's backup selection, hence the new file added to your backup was automatically added to your selection.

If you do not want the new files/folders to be included to your backup selection, then you can configure the "Choose sub-directories and files" settings page to ‘Ignore new files/folders’. You can do this by selecting "Ignore new file/folder" option from the drop-down list on the top-right of:

Modify > Simple > "Choose sub-directories and files" settings page

Please read the help file > Basic Operations > Easy mode > 'Sub-directories and Files' page for more details

Thank you.

Thanks. I didn't realize those were drop down menus.

Is there a global setting for "Make safe copies"?
