quick question about filtering files to NOT include

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

quick question about filtering files to NOT include

Post by citable733 »

Hi -- I'm trying to set up filter for 'files NOT to copy' -- I want to exclude all large files such as .iso files from being synced. The explanation for how to do this in the help is not clear to me. I want to sync an entire external HDD but EXCLUDE all files in ALL folders with the .iso extension. Is the proper syntax as follows:

*\*.iso

The help file at https://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/ ... ttings.htm shows this syntax but I don't think it's working for me. Is there another filter that I need to add to this?

Thanks so much for any assistance!

Thanks. I will try that and see what happens! When I did that syntax before it wanted to 'include' a folder that I had already selected to NOT include. That's puzzing behavior. But I checked 'NO' in order to NOT include which was my original selection. I can't understand why it worked this way.

Thanks for responding!
