Backup Actions

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Backup Actions

Post by IanBr »

Brand new to this software and hoping you can answer a question. I have looked and looked in the helpfile but I'm still not sure.

For the 3 backup types (Backup, Sync, Mirror)... If it is set to copy a folder each night to the same destination, so I'm just maintaining an up-to-date copy of each folder), if a file exists in both source & destination and has not changed since the previous backup, does the software ignore that file, i.e. it does not get copied? Put another way, I want to copy only those files which have changed (or are new) since the previous backup. (Some of the backups are going to a cloud server and I need to minimise the amount of data transferred).

Thank you

As you put it the answer is yes "the software ignores that file". It does however compare each file as your options dictate.
