Suggestions for GIT, avoiding to copy .git folders without losing GIT tracking

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Suggestions for GIT, avoiding to copy .git folders without losing GIT tracking

Post by PinoRossi »

Hello there,
I am a very happy user of SyncBackFree.
I do have a lot of projects on GIT. The ".git" folder tends to be very large and it is not necessary to have all commits on one machine.
Though, if I exclude the .git from backups, I lose connection with the git repository.
Any suggestion on how to optimize backups for git repositories?

Cheers

It seems to me like you need to see if GIT has a solution to your problem.
Although I may not fully understand what you are meaning by your statement: "Though, if I exclude the .git from backups". Maybe you could refraze.
