One Profile, Multiple Groups, Different Destinations

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

One Profile, Multiple Groups, Different Destinations

Post by DerekBez »

Hi,

Is there a way to have One Profile in Multiple Groups going to Different Destinations

For example: I have a profile, say "Data Backup", with the Source = D:\Data.
There are several such profiles for all the folders I want to back up.

The data from the Source to a couple of different Destinations, because, you know, we should have at least three copies of our data.

I have a few Group Profiles - like one for backup to the NAS, and others to backup to my off-line USB drives.
The NAS drive is mapped to N:, while the USB drives (when I plug them in) usually get mapped to P:.

At the moment, I have to copy all the profiles and manually change the destination drive letters depending on which Group it is in.

It would be nice if there was a way to make the Group Profile specify the Destination drive. Is there a way to do this?

I've looked at Variables, but it seems they are not available in "Free", and as much as I appreciate the fantastic software and effort that goes into it, I cannot justify >£40 every n-months/years to upgrade.

I am a home user, with one PC running SyncBackFree V10.2.68.0 on Windows 11.
