Virtual drive not recognized

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Virtual drive not recognized

Post by Klaatu »

Hello. Am running SyncBackFree v10 and noticed it no longer recognizes virtual drives (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/subst) in profile setup. It used to just as my file explorers can. Wondering if anyone can shed light on this.

Believe the problem is yet another Windows screwy situation.

This could happen if you ran the subst command in a different account context than your own.
Try not running CMD in an elevated prompt(ADMIN) and then do your SUBST command.
If that doesn't work try running CMD in an elevated prompt(ADMIN) and then do your SUBST command.

Thank you for the input. I ran the command manually and the drive appeared again in SyncBackFree folder options. It's set to run at startup but I surmise due to a system change that happened without my input, the command is auto-started from the wrong startup folder now.

Issue I've found with Windows is that there are multiple Startup folders so will add the CMD to all that I find.

How can I ensure that a specific command runs at startup from the correct startup folder in Windows, considering the presence of multiple startup folders?
