Basic Sync operation changed

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE.

Basic Sync operation changed

Post by Bernard46 »

Recently, probably since V11, the operation of Basic Sync seems to have changed! I used it to sync files (including Excel) between various systems like a laptop and static PCs. It has worked fine for many years but now I seem to have to be very careful when I use it. In the past it would copy the most recently changed file between the various systems, which was the 'obvious' way for it to work. However now if I open an Excel file and then close it with "do not save" it still seems to regard this file has having been changed and copies it across, thus overwriting the file that has been changed!!
Has anyone else experienced this issue - it may be only with Excel files. I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and Syncback Free V11.

I understand your frustration with Basic Sync's changes in V11. It's crucial to have reliable file synchronization, especially with Excel files across systems. While I can't speak for others, I can offer suggestions. Check for specific Excel file settings in Syncback Free V11. Adjusting configurations might ensure accurate synchronization. Additionally, consider reaching out to the Syncback Free support team for personalized assistance. They can provide insights and help troubleshoot the issue effectively. Stay patient, and hopefully, a solution will be found soon!
