Hi there,
I am using the free version (v11.2.33.0) of the software.
I use a flashstick to mirror backup my desk top folders and files.
But mirroring fails ; the changes I make on the source files does not reflected on the destination.
Instead files in the destination folder deleted ?!
I would appreciate if some one advice me about the cause and remedy of this situation..
Thanks

Re: Mirroring Failure
There are many settings that may need to be checked in SyncBackFree. I have no way of knowing your level of understanding, so excuse me if you do already know the following:
"A mirror copies files in one direction: from the source to the destination. It does delete files that are only in the destination. Like a backup, it will replace files in the destination with newer files from the source and also add files to the destination that are missing.
So a mirror is the same as a backup, except for the case where you have files only in the destination, i.e. you only have backups. Those are deleted. For example, you are copying files from your computer (source) to the cloud (destination). You delete a file from your computer (the source), e.g. a document. That same file is already on the cloud (your destination), e.g. you've already run a backup or mirror before you deleted it so a copy of the file was made. If you have a backup profile, then when you run it again it will not delete the file from the cloud. However, if you have a mirror profile, then it will delete the file from the cloud."
SyncBack is not "Imaging Software". Your problem may be you are trying to copy your entire system.

Re: Mirroring Failure
First of all thank you very much for taking time to answer and your explanations. I have general idea about different modes of backup such as backup itself, mirroring and synchronizing. From my knowledge mirroring should also reflect the content changes Of the source files. in my case it does not. if I make some changes within my source file document such as adding or deleting texts or changing it and afterwards if I run mirroring in the software nothing changes in the destination file. To my knowledge Mirroring is not functioning properly... that is the issue I have now.

Re: Mirroring Failure
There could be other reasons but it sounds likely that your source file is not being mirrored to the destination where you think it should be. Check the source & destination paths in your profile. Make sure when you look at the destination file that you are looking in the correct folder. Look at the modification time on the destination file & then delete the destination file. Then rerun your profile to see if the file is copied & again look at the modification time on the destination file for a clue to what is going on.
