FTP constantly disconnecting, eventually fails (aborts)

Post by Tyree »

I just set up an ftp server (filezilla) at my brother's house in order to do an offsite backup. I can connect to send test files with an ftp client and with SyncBack, but when I actually run a full profile, SyncBack can't stay connected long enough to do its full scan of the remote data. It scans a few files, disconnects, reconnects, scans a few more, disconnects...until finally it aborts saying it could not reconnect. I have it set to Fast Backup, but it can never get past the first scan to be able to use the Fast Backup on subsequent runs.

I increases the Reconnect Attempts and Read Timeout to see if that will give it enough tries to be able to finish.

Does anyone have any insight as to what I might try to get this working?

As another avenue I might pursue if the ftp won't work, can SyncBack automatically connect to a VPN?

Please submit a support zip with debug logs for the profile in-question by using the Contact Support links in this article and attach the support zip file for further investigation. ... ation-file

If your Zip is over 30MB, contact us for alternate instructions, advising the actual size. Do not try to attach to the ticket!

Do not post (nor links to) Support Zips on this open forum.

Thank you.
