Mac Touch running very slowly

Post by jon7228 »

I'm syncing some files from Windows to a Mac.

When I use Touch, the transfer is taking 10 times as long compared to targeting a file share on the Mac.

Anyone has have this issue? Anyways to resolve it?

I raised a support ticket but was told this is normal and not an issue, which doesn't seem right?

Watching the progress of the copies on the destination (iMac) files are written one by one. Initially they are created with a $$$ suffix and then renamed, removing the suffix. The copy of the file is happening immediately, then sometimes it will be 10-15 seconds or more before the file is renamed and it moves on to the next. This is with files round 1-20mb in size, seems worse with the larger files.

So it's not an issue with the network or copy speeds, something else is causing it to pause.
